We Have a Birthday Girl!

This past Saturday was my daughter's 17th birthday! I spent all of last Friday running around town getting ready for her surprise party! I invited about 20 of her closest friends and we had a pool & pizza party. I got her favorite cake and blew up a double tall air mattress and covered it with a Shabby Chic white bed skirt and it looked fabulous! I put votive candles all over the tables, and big hurricane lanterns all around the pool for sparkle and shimmer....it was magical!
She went home from school with 2 friends, thinking she was getting ready to go to a football game, and around 7:00 they blindfolded her, told her not to ask questions and drove her here to our home. They walked her into the back yard and upon removing her blindfold she saw 20 of her friend yell, "SURPRISE!!!!" It was a blast!! If you haven't done a surprise party for your child, yet, I say go ahead! It's so fun! I have some photos that I'll add later from my other computer but I wanted to get this up for you today! Enjoy the day, my friends! XOXO

Yummy Young Coconuts!

Here are a few photos of the last time we enjoyed some young coconuts!! They're a bit tricky to get open but once you do, they are SO Yummy to drink and fun for the kids!! Youtube.com has several videos with detailed footage on how to open them!
I came across young coconut years ago when I was dabbling in the raw foods craze. Raw foodies LOVE raw coconut and eat it and drink the milk on a regular basis due to it's health benifits and delicious taste. Towards the end of the summer, my youngest daughter was rushed to the ER when she came home from a long day in the sun with heat exhaustion and dehydration. I remembered the young coconut is one of the best ways to rehydrate your body, certainly much better than Gatorade or other electrolyte drinks that are also full of artificial colors and additives. If you have access to young coconut, I'd suggest having a few cans of it at home like you would chicken noodle soup or saltene crackers in case the kids get sick!http://www.youngcoconuts.com/benefits.html

REBOUNDER EXERCISES to LOSE WEIGHT & GET HEALTHY! NEEDAK is BEST TRAMPOL...

This guy cracks me up~~He calls himself Dan The Man and he's a health fanatic. I've recently started rebounding (jumping on a mini trampoline) to get in shape! My birthday is in 3 months and I've got a goal to get healthy before I turn another year older! Because I have bad knees from years of running on concrete streets, I can't turn to my favorite form of exercise (running) anymore to stay fit. I hear rebounding is SUPER healthy as it's easy on the joints and helps with lymphatic circulation. I'll let you all know how it's going. I'd love to hear what you do to stay in shape!! Leave your comments below! XOXO
